the twist: wahbegan: j-sillabub: kosciuszkovevo: closecaptionvevo: interstellar-space-cadet: I’m every one in this MAN 1 (in a high pitched, whiny voice) Look what you’ve done to my peonies! WOMAN (angrily) They’re marigolds! MAN 2 God! I think she’s right! They are marigolds! MAN 1 I may not know my flowers, but I know a (yells in her direction) bitch when I see one! It’s back! I looked this up because I had to know what it’s from. It’s a film called The Gay Deceivers (1969), and it’s about two straight men who, seeking to avoid the draft, claim to be gay, but then have to keep up the pretense when the army places them under surveillance. The man in the red cardigan in the clip was played by Michael Greer, who was openly gay himself - unusual for the time. He actually worked closely with the director and rewrote much of the film’s dialogue to reduce the homophobia and make it more realistic. As a result it’s quite progressive for its time, having a gay character, played by a gay man, living in a happy same-sex relationship, which is more than a lot of media offers us today. Plus the clip is delightful. I just looked it up on wikipedia and fucking The twist is that even after the pair is caught, they are not inducted into the military. The Army investigators assigned to watch them are themselves gay and are trying to keep straight people out of the Army. EDFIAWFOWEFUHSFUIHOFIUHFOIFUHFOIUH

the twist: JUSTICE LEAGUE THE FLASHPOINT PARADOX Heroic, Gatewav/Instagram NATIONAL RNATIONA DIEG DIE G D I ONAL. INTER TERNATION lourencohanpost E G 0 D IE For the uninitiated, “Flashpoint” is a time-twisting 2011 DC Comics crossover event that was written by Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns, with art by Andy Kubert and immediately preceded the New 52 initiative (which, ironically, just ended in 2016). In the story, Barry Allen wakes up in an alternate reality where his mother is still alive and he doesn’t have his powers, which means he isn’t The Flash. However, those aren’t the only changes. In this topsy-turvy world, Superman is a scrawny boy because he’s never seen the sun since the government captured him when he landed on Earth; Thomas Wayne is a ruthless version of the Batman because his son Bruce murdered and wife Martha becomes the Joker; Aquaman and Wonder Woman are at war; and Cyborg is the world’s most popular superhero — like we said, topsy turvy. The twist in the story is that Barry discovers he caused this alternate reality when he traveled back in time to save his mom from being murdered. So, Barry embarks on a quest to regain his powers and restore the timeline before Aquaman and Wonder Woman’s war destroys the planet, which is a likely possibility. While he succeeds in defeating the Reverse Flash, his attempts to fix the timeline still led to the continuity changes that were trademarks of the New 52, which rebooted the entire DC Comics universe. Wow、 Woah... been right at this point This reminds me of MarioKart and you drove off into the water and then you hit the darker blue water and you were basically fucked and had to give your coins to that creepy flying turtle thing. two kinds of people AldenRants 39-50 @Jcd2703 asked me to rant about people who make fun of millennials! Am I biased in this argument because I am myself a millennial *entire Victorian-style ballroom attendance gasps in dismay* or am I prejudiced because I can also be annoyed by millennials?? LET'S JUST ASSUME THEY CANCEL EACH OTHER OUT SO WE CAN GET ON WITH THIS. Literally every argument I've heard against the millennial mentality has either been hypocritical or ignorant. Not gonna lie, when I hear somebody tell me, "These kids today listening to their terrible music and reminiscing about things in their childhood," my initial thought is, "Oh, fuck yeah, you tell it like it is granny," but then it dawns on me on how that has always been a thing for people to do. NOBODY HAS EVER ESCAPED THE CLUTCHES OF BEING INTOLERABLE THROUGHOUT GROWING UP. THE TWIST BY CHUBBY CHECKER IS UNEQUIVOCALLY THE 1960s EQUIVALENT TO WATCH ME (WHIP-NAENAE.) "Only 90's Kids will remember this" AND "Back in my day-" IN CONTEXT ARE THE EXACT SAME THING. In a way we're alllll just millennials on different stages of life

the twist: Fact 1573 a Batfamily trivia Harley Quinn has appeared in over 1,000 comic book issues. Possibly Spoiler Review of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Marvel's 2017 GOTG is high on everyone's most anticipated film list. I personally only "like" the first Guardians. So when the sequel came around I was decided to give the guardians another shot. I went into the film, totally forgetting everyone's opinion on the Guardians, including myself. The first hour of the film, it seemed a little dull for me at first. But at the same time I think it didn't hurt the film narrative wise. This being a sequel we already know the personalities of these misfits. The film soon started to pick up and I was starting to get really interested. And then, all of hades breaks loose. That plot twist, now when I was a marvel fanatic I purposely stayed away from Space Lore so Guardians is a blind spot for me. But then the twist happened, the characters became so expressive with their emotions and the CGI was phenomenal! The story got super interesting now, the characters had a mission, a motive. And that ending... oh my gosh James Gunn you took a character I wasn't too thrilled on and made him relatable. Made his sacrifice a noble and oh... its like the first marvel movie that legit made me feel emotion. I can't give a rating now, but man. That's it. I love The Guardians of the Galaxy! batman75 starlord gotgvol2 harleyquinn
