It’s an amputation. Get claw caps instead! They stay on pretty well and your cat can walk around normally. You can take them off whenever you want. This is great for house cats. They don’t need their claws for defense but they need them to walk the way we need toes. This keeps them from scratching you or furniture and keeps them happy and healthy. It’s a win for everyone. And trying to remove them after can literally just rip their nail off anyways. Using claw caps on retractable clawed animals can cause serious damage, discomfort, and infection, which can then lead to…. THE AMPUTATION YOU WERE TRYING TO AVOID!!! People need to do some research before blurting out an unresearched ‘solution’ that causes just as much damage. So many people have reblogged the claw cap version and listen to it without question and that’s REALLY. REALLY. BAD. Here’s a real solution; either clip their nails manually (google how it’s easy) or just DONT. GET. A. CAT. Please reblog this and spread it around, people you cannot safely use claw caps on an animal with retractable claws.

Journey, Memes, and Best: William and Ellen Craft escaped enslavement in 1848. Ellen's light complexion allowed her to dress as a white man. She then claimed William was her slave. They traveled first class all the way. theblaquelioness Most runaway slaves fled to freedom in the dead of night, often pursued by barking bloodhounds. A few fugitives, such as Henry “Box” Brown who mailed himself north in a wooden crate, devised clever ruses or stowed away on ships and wagons. One of the most ingenious escapes was that of a married couple from Georgia, Ellen and William Craft, who traveled in first-class trains, dined with a steamboat captain and stayed in the best hotels during their escape to Philadelphia and freedom in 1848. Ellen, a quadroon with very fair skin, disguised herself as a young white cotton planter traveling with his slave (William). It was William who came up with the scheme to hide in plain sight, but ultimately it was Ellen who convincingly masked her race, her gender and her social status during their four-day trip. Despite the luxury accommodations, the journey was fraught with narrow escapes and heart-in-the-mouth moments that could have led to their discovery and capture. Courage, quick thinking, luck and “our Heavenly Father,” sustained them, the Crafts said in Running a Thousand Miles for Freedom, the book they wrote in 1860 chronicling the escape. - smithsonianmag.com theblaquelioness

Cookies, Crime, and Tumblr: How TO TALK TO NAZIS masked-up: yellow-anonymous: masked-up: masked-up: Quick how-to A lot of comments criticising this post have popped up, I realized the problem and I’ve fixed it. Two wrongs don’t make a right. Assault is still a crime. It doesn’t matter if the person being punched is a “”“Nazi”””. What are you talking about???Lets say I can punch one of two people. My first option is this innocent old lady. My second option is this man wearing a flag, a face mask and making a specific gesture with this hand. Can you tell me the big difference between these two people? One of them is innocent and has never harmed anyone, the other is a fascist who supports either mass deporting all Muslims and non-whites, or flat out killing them. One makes cookies and one makes Nazi salutes, one goes to bingo and one went to prison for getting in a street battle in Dover. So it does matter if the person I punch is a Nazi, yes its still assault but its the Why he got punched that makes the difference. I’d never punch an old lady, but I’d very happily deck a fascist or Nazi, because they’re racist they’re nationalist they’re dangerous. It matters a great deal who is punched, and why. Of course if you’re completely against all political violence you’ll never see any punches thrown as good ones, you’ll never see it as a right only a wrong. Despite the consistent examples of violence or the threat of violence working to get rid of fascists and Nazis, because your morals will never allow it.
