That aint renaissance fanart You know what, assholes? I run this blog for y'all every day. I see things you cannot begin to imagine. I have to read people’s Robespierre smut and their questions about how various monsters would fuck them. I am so jaded that, when someone submits a tag mentioning some random vaguely liquid substance without context, I just assume it’s being used as lube. Nutella? Lube. Crazy glue? Lube. Divine fucking ichor? Fucking lube! I do this for you, y'all. I shield you from this shit. I stand athwart the tides of horror, hold my hands up, and yell “STOP” in the hopes that it will keep the waters from reaching you. So you know what, fuckheads!? If I want to maintain the one tiny scrap of innocence I have left, I will. The official policy of AO3TagoftheDay is now that turtles, teenage, mutant, ninja, or otherwise, do not fuck. It never happens. They don’t fuck. They don’t fuck each other. They don’t fuck humans. They don’t fuck in real life and they don’t fuck in fiction. This tag is about two gay Renaissance painters holding each other close and kissing chastely under the Sistine chapel ceiling. There. Glad we got that sorted out. Please return to your regularly scheduled programming. Ao3tagoftheday finally snapped I don’t know why this is so funny but I’m laughing to the point of tears

Comfortable, Crazy, and Instagram: cosplayinamerica: I originally planned on doing a cosplay that allowed me to be comfortable at the convention….and then I saw Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse. As soon as I saw Kingpin I thought, I MUST BE HIM. I fell in love with his character design and loved how absurdly large he was.   I started sculpting his face after I saw the movie but didn’t start on the body until a couple weeks before the convention. I basically just built a box out of insulation foam sheets with foam pieces inside that rested on my shoulders to give him height. I cut a hole out of the belly area and covered the entire body in sheer black fabric so that I could see through it without any obvious vision holes. For the arms, I bought the largest pair of black pants I could find at the thrift shop and used them as sleeves. I stuffed them with foam and ran a wire through them so they could bend and so I could easily attach my silicone hands (which were lifecasts of my own tiny hands). I ran the face in silicone and backed it with foam. I then attached the face to the body with silicone caulk. Everything else was basically attached by hot glue and a prayer.  I tried it on for the first time a couple days before the convention and realized the insulation foam was really doing its job and within seconds I was already getting warm. So, the night before the show I ran out and bought a battery operated fan that I installed under his armpit. As much as I stressed about all the imperfections, as soon as I walked into the con and saw the reactions to it, I was immediately relieved. Seeing so many little Miles cosplayers freak out over a giant Fisk truly made my day. Doing cosplay is such an amazing creative outlet for me. I’m a full-time SFX artist, but like most jobs, I don’t have any creative freedom. Cosplay gives me the opportunity to use all these crazy skills I’ve learned and create something that brings myself and others pure joy. —- https://www.instagram.com/dinasaurclub/ Photo : David Ngo

Trace this over with marker to make for easier cutting This is the most tedious part: tracing the design onto your shield! I cut mine out piece by piece, starting with the gem design, then the thorns, and then the vine. Just line everything up with what you've already traced as you go! Be careful at the edges! Since they're sloped, they might need a little alteration from your original lines. Now just paint all your traced designs in with acrylics (mine took 2 coats for the darker colors and 3 for the white) and give your shield a good clear coat to protect from chipping! For carrying, I used some E6000 to attach some elastic straps. You wanna glue the crap out of these things, put plenty underneath and some on top (it'll soak into the elastic) just in case! I used one big strap for my arm, and I held onto the smaller one, and it was pretty comfy all day Now get out there and defend the earth makelovelycosplay: Here’s how I made my Rose Quartz shield!
