Ea-nasir and his dodgy business deals prokopetz And we haven't even touched on the true hilarity of the situation yet. Consider two additional facts He wasn't just into copper trading. There are letters complaining about Ea-nasir's business practices with respect to everything from kitchenwares to real estate speculation to second-hand clothing. The guy was everywhere The majority of the surviving correspondences regarding Ea- nasir were recovered from one particular room in a building that is believed to have been Ea-nasir's own house Like, these are clay tablets. They're bulky, fragile, and difficult to store. They typically weren't kept long-term unless they contained financial records or other vital information (which is why we have huge reams of financial data about ancient Babylon in spite of how little we know about the actual culture: most of the surviving tablets are commercial inventories, bills of sale, etc.) But this guy, this Ea-nasir, he kept all of his angry letters hundreds of them - and meticulously filed and preserved them in a dedicated room in his house. What kind of guy does that? Tumblr discusses the Complaint tablet to Ea-nasir

Amazon, Complex, and Jeff Bezos: Dazed Jeff Bezos Realizes He Spent Entire Conversation Thinking About How To Automate Person Talking To Him theonion: SEATTLE—Suddenly snapping back to attention, a dazed Jeff Bezos reportedly realized Thursday that he had spent an entire conversation thinking about how to automate the person talking to him. “Sorry, could you repeat that? I just lost focus for a second [as I indifferently watched you open and close your mouth, becoming increasingly aware of the fact that a simple machine could do the exact same things as you],” Bezos said to the Amazon vice president in front of him, even as he resumed brainstorming a complex algorithm that would streamline the executive’s duties, perform them with greater speed and efficiency, and possibly even capture some of his unique human qualities to make it user-friendly. “Whoops, there I go again. I must’ve spaced out [after realizing I could probably render you completely irrelevant within just a few years]. I guess I’m really distracted today [by the tantalizing thought of an automaton executing every one of your relevant functions for no salary with never a single complaint].” Bezos, who suddenly recalled a series of vivid dreams from the previous night in which he automated the entire American workforce, went on to apologize for not getting much sleep.

Memes, News, and Party: wouL "I THINK IT'S GREAT!" Republican Party HQ vandalism suspect boasts in on-camera interview before arrest Hours after he allegedly spray painted the words 'rape' and 'shame' dozens of time on the Winnebago County Republican Party headquarters Sunday morning, suspect Timothy Damm (42) talked with an Eyewitness News reporter at the scene. "I think it's great," Damm said of the vandalism. "I haven't been great with the Republicans right in my neighborhood, but somebody labeled them for what they are. I'm happy about that." Damm was wearing a pink shirt with the same date printed on the back when he was interviewed. When asked if he thought the vandal had gotten their message across, Damm replied, "I think they did... Republican equals rape. That they support rape, they encourage rape, and if you rape someone, they will defend you." Damm was detained later Sunday at the Walmart on Riverside Blvd. where police found him in possession of additional cans of spray paint in a shopping bag. He was taken into custody on Monday. Damm was charged with criminal damage to property and resisting a police officer. He faces up to one to three years in prison, if convicted. According to the criminal complaint, Damm danced on the table in the police interview room, stacked chairs and furnishings, and stripped down to his underwear. The complaint goes on to say that when police tried to escort Damm from the interview room he thrashed his arms and legs and refused to sit in the holding room. He was then taken to the floor and restrained in handcuffs.
