New London Art Exhibit Will Honor the Legacy of Amy Winehouse balleralert New London Art Exhibit Will Honor the Legacy of Amy Winehouse-blogged by @thereal__bee ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Almost six years after her death late singer AmyWinehouse is set to be the inspiration behind a new art project in Camden London With the help of some crowdfunding a street art trail will be created in March 2017 to celebrate Winehouse's legacy ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The project which is a collaboration between Winehouse’s brother Alex and UK organization Global Street Art is composed of two parts an art trail and an exhibit The trail will reportedly feature graffiti inspired by the Valerie songstress ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In addition to this Winehouse’s family friend Pegasus has also created an art installation entitled “Love Is A Losing Game a reference to her 2006 single ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While the exhibit was originally shown in 2013 it will return after the international tour of 'Amy Winehouse Family Portrait' The exhibit pays homage to Winehouse’s upbringing specifically her Jewish heritage It includes photos from past Shabbat dinners images of her in a Jewish Girls Brigade uniform and even a graphic of her family tree ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “Aside from being an immensely talented iconic and inspirational singer Amy was also a Jewish girl from North London It is fitting that the Jewish Museum in her beloved Camden Town should be the place to tell her story” Director of the Jewish Museum London and organizer said “Our street art trail is an exciting new way to explore Amy’s impact on her local community and we are keen to celebrate her legacy through the work of these outstanding street artists” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The Amy Winehouse Art Trail will extend through Camden and end at London’s Jewish Museum While fans wish the art exhibit was everlasting the art trail will only run from March 16 until June 4 while the exhibit will remain on view until Sept 24 Meme
